Cameras are advancing pretty darn quickly these days, so it’s a bit of a surprise to find an “entry-level” camera from Pentax — the Optio E30 — that rocks 7.1 megapixels of high-resolution goodness. What’s more, while it’ll play nice with garden variety SD cards, real trend setters will surely opt for the higher capacity SDHC cards that everyone is talking about.

They’re marketing it as a budget phone for consumers with basic needs, and as such, the features are quite simple. There’s only 3x optical zoom, 11MB of built-in memory, and a 2.4-inch color screen. The physical design leaves a lot to be desired too.

Shiny Shiny is reporting a February ship date, but we have yet to come across any pricing information.
