Samsung Ultra Edition 13.8 is world’s first Googlephone

Google powers a lot of what I do on a daily basis. I use them for web searches (natch), RSS subscription management, email, driving directions, maps, and so on. It turns out that the first cellular phone to come loaded with a whole whack of Google functionality is the Samsung Ultra Edition 13.8 (née Z720).

This is contrary to earlier reports that HTC was making a Googlephone for Orange UK. That’s not to say that everyone’s favorite WinMo smartphone maker isn’t still working on a handset infused with Googleness, but it does mean that our Korean buddy beat them to the punch.

Of course, you could just download all these Google apps yourself onto whatever phone’ll take them.
