Cingular’s splat of a mascot is jumping for joy over its Moto Q-like BlackJack, slim form factor and all, but Verizon doesn’t want to be left out in the cold without some Samsung smartphone goodness of its own. Hence, the checkmark of a mobile service provider has apparently nabbed the BlackJack-like Samsung i760. Powered by Windows Mobile (Crossbow), the i760 has its directional pad on the left and numpad on the right.

Wondering what happened to the QWERTYness? Well, it seems like that’s been transplanted to a slide-out keyboard. The rest of the spec sheet is pretty darn impressive as well with its 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD expansion, 128MB ROM, 64MB RAM, 802.11b/g WiFi, and 1xEV-DO.

No word on pricing, but we’re expecting Verizon’s take on the BlackJack to start shipping in Q2 2007.
