Stand up! Toshiba unleashes SD-P50DT DVD player with 1Seg, DivX

Can’t decide if you want to watch your new Entourage DVD or catch some Japanese TV drama? Now you can do both with the Toshiba SD-P50DT. While other portable DVD players on the market typically take on a clamshell-like form factor, the SD-P50DT is flat as a board, but it comes with a stand that props it up from the back. There also appears to be some sort of speaker dock that is also available.

Destined for the Japanese market, this Toshiba video viewer features a less-than-huge five-inch color display and integrates a 1Seg TV tuner. The black and silver motif is certainly attractive, and so is that lovely DivX logo in the corner.

Price is expected to be 39,800 Yen (US$336).
