Samsung seems to do better at achieving future high-tech devices than many of its competitors. A good example of this is what appears to be the world’s first 3-megapixel CMOS image sensor.

It has a one-quarter-inch lens aperture with a super-small module size, half that of what’s available now. The result is a much smaller presence than ever before and, as a result, the possibility of a slimmer, sleeker cameraphone than is currently on the market.

Samsung expects to ramp up production early in 2007, expect to see the new sensor in phones soon after.
