Typically, projectors are quite the bulky machines, weighing next to a ton and having a footprint larger than Bigfoot. Casio is aiming to change that misconception by releasing the XJ-S35 and XJ-S30 portable DLP projectors. They are just 32mm thick!
What this means, though, is that the lens is also substantially smaller (26mm diameter), but they say that the 2x wide-angle zoom lens “makes it project large-size images even in a small space.” To keep everything running along nice and smooth, Casio has implemented “water-cooling with heatpipe technology.” Other key features include 2000 ANSI lumens brightness, 1800:1 contrast ratio, and compatability with NTSC, PAL, PAL-N, PAL-M, PAL60, and SECAM. The SJ35 adds in a single USB 1.1 port and 802.11b WLAN connectivity.
No word on pricing, but these skinny projectors appear to be Korea-only.
