Word is spreading that online music sales are dwindling, but Apple is quick to point out that the iTunes Music Store remains largely unaffected, saying that the numbers are as good as ever. This is contrary to earlier reports indicating that monthly revenue has dropped 65% compared to January of this year. Apple says these figures are “simply incorrect.”
The produce-inspired electronics maker isn’t releasing any hard figures to back up their denial, so we’re left guessing who’s right in this whole “poor online music sales” fiasco. Truth be told, Apple is doing just fine, even if they aren’t selling enough songs. After all, they own 75% of the MP3 player market (with huge profit margins to boot).
