Sanyo batteries go boom, NTT DoCoMo recalls 1.3 million

And so the battery woes continue. Sony isn’t the only one suffering from the exploding battery fiasco, as NTT DoCoMo of Japan has just issued a recall for 1.3 million Sanyo batteries. Apparently, these lithium-ion power givers were generating “excessive heat” and in some cases, they were even causing “ruptures.” Dangerous stuff.

This news couldn’t have come at a worse time for the mobile telecommunications giant, as they lost 17,500 users last month, marking the first time ever that they have actually lost customers since opening up shop way back in July 1992.

Happy holidays… here’s your “hot” new phone.
