Now this is the kind of laptop that I’d be interested in. The Toshiba DynaBook SS S30 tips the scales at a mere 3.1 pounds and boasts a “super bright” 12.1-inch WXGA display. If you’re looking for a mobile computing solution, this very well could be it.
Of course, it won’t be able to best the ultra-powerful gaming laptops in the spec sheet department. Under the hood is an ultra low voltage Intel Core Solo U1300 (1.06GHz), which is a plus and a minus. You’ll get better battery life at the expense at a weaker processor.
Other key specs include 512MB of DDR2 RAM, 40GB HDD, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, an SD/CF card reader, and — to keep everything nice and safe — a biometric fingerprint scanner.
Look for it next month attached to a $2,300 (and up) price tag.
