Not really sure how we let this one slip under the radar, but it seems like everyone, and I do mean everyone, is getting Chocolate this holiday season. Up here in Canada, our cell phone selection is typically pretty limited. Well, not only are Telus Mobility and Rogers Wireless getting the LG Chocolate, so is the little puppy that could, Fido.

Formerly run by Microcell Solutions but now owned by Rogers, Fido has picked up the same quad-band GSM LG Chocolate phone — the TG800 — that parent company Rogers has. In a nutshell, it is the tri-band KG800 with the 850MHz band swapped in for the 900MHz band to ensure North American friendliness. So, you get a 1.3 megapixel camera, integrated media player, 128MB of built-in memory, and no expansion slot.

They’re even selling it at the same price as Rogers: $150 with a three-year contract.

They say that giving chocolate to a dog is a big no-no. I think we can make an exception in this case.
