I thought that the biggest selling point of the Samsung YP-K5 portable music player cum new-gen ghetto blaster was it it boasted that nifty integrated speaker that you could slide out at your every whim. If that’s the case, why would you settle for the speaker-less YP-K3 that the Korean giant announced today?

By all accounts, it appears nearly identical to its K5 cousin, except that it doesn’t have that unique slide-out speaker. Instead, it’s an otherwise generic DAP in a classy-looking suit. From what we can gather, it’s got a 1.8-inch OLED display, FM tuner, and will be available in one, two, and four gigabyte variants (maybe an eight down the road).

No word on pricing or availability.
