While Nissan is still trying to catch up to Honda and Toyota in the hybrid front, Japan’s second largest automaker is apparently already developing a sub-compact all-electric car. To be powered by lithium-ion batteries (developed in-house), this unnamed car is expected to hit the market in just three years!
If that’s the case, the full electric vehicle will be available in showrooms before a Nissan hybrid (scheduled to be sold by 2010). And this isn’t just some random blogger on the internet with an “inside source” either: this was reported by Japan’s Nihon Keizai (Nikkei) newspaper.
