Buffalo revealed the WSKP-G Skype phone a few hours ago, a cordless handset that could do the VoIP dance without a computer. The RTX DUALphone, also announced today, is claiming that it can do Skype without wires or a computer.

One of the main advantages of the RTX offering, however, is that it can operate as a “normal telephone” as well, hence its DUALphone moniker. Battery life is also substantially better than the Buffalo offering, with the DUALphone 3088 boasting 10 hours of talk time, 140 hours of standby.

Pricing between the two devices is comparable. The RTX DUALphone 3088 retails for EUR 159 (US$203). Available now through select European retailers.
