A few years ago, it seemed that everyone had a special cleaning tape for cassette players, even video ones. But memory card readers? Why bother? They don’t get dirty, do they?

Well, yes, they do, as any frustrated game player can tell you. Those memory cards have sensitive areas on them that really shouldn’t get dirty. Dirt, as we all know, can be anywhere, even inside a memory card slot.

To meet that need, a company called EverGreen has come out with a Card Reader Cleaner, which consists of a set of card-lookalikes that clean the inside of memory card slots just by being inserted into them.

Formats included are Memory STick, XD, SD, and miniSD. Each card is slightly longer than the “real” cards, so you won’t have trouble getting them back out.
