Getting a little specific, aren’t we Toshiba? In an effort to be able to use the “world’s first” catchphrase, Toshiba has unveild the “world’s first” class-4 8GB SDHC card. We’ve seen the postage stamp-sized memory card with 8 gigs of memory before, but this is the first time that they’re making it available in a class-4 package.

What this means is that you’ll be able to enjoy a “guaranteed 4MB/s minimum write speed.” That’s pretty darn speedy, especially when it comes to taking high-res pictures on high-megapixel cameras. No word on pricing, but we’re expecting to see these lining the streets in Japan in January.
