The world of QWERTY-filled smartphones has just gotten a little more crowded. i-mate has turned their back on HTC and gained the favour of TechFaith, commissioning the latter to create the JAQ3. The slim form factor and black shell are a little reminiscent of the black Moto Q now available through Bell Mobility, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Beyond the casing you’ll find quad-band GSM/EDGE, a 2 megapixel camera, 128MB ROM, and 64MB of RAM. Powered by Pocket PC Phone Edition, the JAQ3 also boasts lovely 802.11g WiFi connectivity. No word on pricing, but the current rumbling has this as Middle East exclusive.
