Garbage trucks goes hybrid

We think it’s high time that garbage trucks get on the hybrid bandwagon. After all, they’ve been picking up recyclable materials for years.

Some brave souls at Oshkosh Truck installed the ProPulse hybrid technology in a garbage truck just like the one in the photo, showing it off at the Hybrid Truck Users Forum in San Diego. Officials claimed that the hybrid capability could deliver up to 50 percent savings over traditional vehicles, in addition to a reduced noise emission as well. And that’s not trash talk.
