Getting Intel’s hottest new processor doesn’t have to break the bank. In fact, you will soon be able to grab a Core 2 Duo-powered laptop for less than $1000 from the folks at Systemax. Well, not that much less than a grand (the asking price is $999.99, believe it or not).
The American PC maker is offering the Pursuit notebook — first Core 2 Duo unit to be offered for less than $1000 — in a 15.4-inch package. It boasts such features as Windows XP Pro, an 80GB HDD, 1GB DDR2 RAM, DVD-RW, a trio of USB ports, integrated Extreme Graphics 2, integrated 1.3 megapixel camera, and, of course, an Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66Ghz 2MB Cache 667MHz processor.
