If you’ve been to just about any supermarket or shopping mall anywhere, there’s a good chance that you’ve encountered a barcode scanner. Bluebird has taken this everyday device, shrunk it down to ultra portable proportions, packed in Bluetooth wireless technology, and even completed the package with a glove.

The BI-300 allows retailers to wirelessly read product barcodes. This is particularly useful for smaller (mobile) kiosks where their entire operation is based out of a laptop or PDA-like device. I’m not too much of a fan of the ugly red glove, but its functionality appears fantastic.

They’re planning on releasing the BI-300 in the first half of next year. No word on pricing.
