LED street lights last 50,000 hours

A new kind of street light technology needs replacing only once in a blue moon.

The patent is still pending on the IntenCity SL1600 LED technology, but the company insists that its products are good. First of all, there’s the 50,000 hours that you have to burn through before you need to replace a bulb. Then, there’s the light engine that has no air intake, so it doesn’t need cleaning. The photosensor is all modern technology as well.

According to IntenCity, the SL1600 can offer street lights that consume half the energy and last 10 years longer than today’s standard of outdoor lights.
