iPod enthusiasts will soon be able to charge up their beloved music players while on a plane. Apple Computer is negotiating with Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, KLM, and United Airlines to provide seat-back displays that offer iPod integration.

This deal is specifically for the newer video iPod models, so that customers can watch movies during their flights, charging up the devices all the while, for the ultimate in customizable video entertainment. Non-video iPods might be able to take advantage of the integration methods.

Details are still being worked out, and other airlines might be onboard as well by the time the service is supposed to be available, which sources say is mid-2007.

Bottom line: You can watch all your own videos during your plane flight. Whether you watch Die Hard 2 or Snakes on a Plane is up to you.
