Call me old fashioneed, but I still walk up to the booth to buy movie tickets when I hit up the cinema. Times are a-changing. SK Telecom has just unveiled a new system in Korea wherein customers can simply approach their movie poster of choice, download a bevy of content, and even purchase their cinema tickets without ever dealing with a real person.
This solution is RFID-based, so all you have to do is take your RFID-reading cell phone and swipe it across the poster. You’ll instantly “review short movie highlight video clips, reserve seats at a cinema, download movie soundtrack for ring-tone”, and so on. The ticket is confirmed via SMS, so there’s no need for a printed version either.
