General Motors is looking to expand their lucrative Hummer brand, and the next addition to the line-up — possibly the pickup truck variant we saw some time back. Launch is scheduled for some time in 2009.

They stopped producing the supersized H1 gas guzzling machine, but there’s a distinct possibility that the Chevy Trailblazer is on its way out in favour of an H4 SUV. This new model will fit in under the two current offerings: the H2 and H3.

Whether it’s the H4 or the pickup truck coming first, you can be sure that it will be a Hummer through and through, complete with the distinctive front end. In GM General Manager Martin Walsh’s own words, “it would be recognizable from a distance” and “will have unparalleled off-road capabilities.” Walsh failed to mention anything about fuel economy.
