Going lightweight with Arima UM650UV1 UMPC

Remember when cell phones first hit the market, and you were an instant superstar if you had one at all? Times have changed, but UMPCs are still in their relative infancy. Want to wow your friends with your incredible portable computing solution? Check out the Arima UM650UV1, a UMPC that tips the scales at just 1.5 pounds. That’s pretty darn light.

Although the 6.5-inch TFT display is a touchscreen, I’m very glad to see a slide-out keyboard on this sucker (it’s even split in half like those ergonomic numbers). Other key specs on this WinXP-powered UMPC include the rising-in-popularity VIA C7-M 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 40GB HDD, and VX700 UniChrome Pro graphics. Too bad there’s no built-in WiFi or Bluetooth (you gotta use a USB dongle for that).

No word on pricing.
