Here we are again in the realm of mobile TV, except that this is an idea that has tremendous merit. It’s the SV-1000 from StorVision, and it is a means to taking your TV with you for viewing on any mobile device.

It’s being touted as a mini VCR, and it is that, of sorts. It has Pro Duo and Compactflash card slots, which you can record onto and then slip into your iPod, mobile phone, handheld video, or whatever you’re using to view your TV on the go. You can also do a reverse and use the SV-1000 to show slideshows on your TV.

The device will set you back just US$180. How much you spend on memory cards is up to you.
