If you’re looking to make a fashion statement, you usually don’t turn to the PTT-happy folks at Nextel. You still won’t want to do that, despite their recent unveiling of the Motorola i880 and its spiffy burgundy paintjob. We first caught glimpse of the music-centric clamshell way back in July, and it has taken this long for Nextel to go official with the phone.

Not much has changed since then as far as the specs go. You’ll get a two megapixel camera (the best Nextel has to offer), iDEN Push-to-talk (naturally), external music controls, stereo speakers, integrated MP3 player, and dual color displays. It’s rugged, but unfortunately does not adhere to military spec and the carbon fiber-like fascia has apparently been abandoned as well.

The Motorola i880 is available now for $300 with contract.
