Samsung’s at the “world’s first” game again. The Korean giant has taken your standard issue SIM card and crammed it with 1GB of memory. This is particularly good news to folks rocking cell phones that lack memory card expansion slots (*cough* GSM Chocolate *cough*). Dubbed the S-SIM (creative, I know), this card makes use of system-in-package technology, stuffing in the NAND memory without actually increasing the size of the card at all.

Now, of course, we need a service provider to start offering these before we can actually use them for their intended purpose, but it’s good to know what is possible. Kind of like enjoying DMB and WiMAX on our side of the Pacific.
