Audi A1 to compete with MINI in 2009

Volkswagen wants to tackle every segment of the market. They’ve got the supercar covered with Lamborghini, the SUV market with Touareg… and now they have their sights set on the BMW-owned MINI with the projected 2009 launch of the Audi A1. The “compact coupe” will be developed in partnership with SEAT (a VW subsidiary) and will be based on the current Polo platform. Pricing is expected to be in the 16,000 Euro range.
