I don’t know about you, but when I feel the urge to enjoy my music collection, I often want to be fully enveloped in the tunes, pushing the rest of the world into the periphery. For moments when you want to be alone with your music, you should consider something like Maxell’s new noise cancelling headphones.

They’ve announced two new units — the HP-NC18 earbuds and the HP-NC22 DJ-style headphones — both of which are designed to “reduce noise by up to 90 percent.” The in-ear set works by its lonesome, but to make use of the noise-cancelling feature on the over-ear pair, you’ll need some AAA batteries. Japan only. No price announced.
