For moments when you want to be alone with your music, you should consider something like Maxell’s new noise cancelling headphones.

They’ve announced two new units — the HP-NC18 earbuds and the HP-NC22 DJ-style headphones — both of which are designed to “reduce noise by up to 90 percent.” The in-ear set works by its lonesome, but to make use of the noise-cancelling feature on the over-ear pair, you’ll need some AAA batteries. Japan only. No price announced.
