New Zune commercials emphasize social experience

Let the marketing onslaught begin. We’re less than two weeks away from the official launch of the Zune, and Microsoft has issued no fewer than five new commercials to promote their iPod killer. Whereas Apple seems more content on portraying the enjoyment of music as a fairly individual experience (complete with nifty white earbuds), Microsoft is really pushing the WiFi-sharing capabilities of their portable media player. The slogans are things like “Welcome to the social” and “Duets are better than solos”. Yes, because the Zune will automatically improve your popularity with the fairer sex.
