50 years ago, we would have never imagined such a thing as WiFi or a vehicle powered by hydrogen. In the next 50 years, I’m sure we will experience many changes, and the automotive industry will not be immune. Carlos Agell has dreamed up what the VW Beetle will look like in 2054, and let me tell you, this ain’t no regular bug.

The Venezuelan designer envisions the body to be constructed of liquid metal, allowing the “vehicle” to shift its shape to best suit the conditions. The laser gyrostabilization system will avoid accidents on your behalf. Whether it will come with spinners remains to be seen.

Some things never change: I predict the VW Beetle will still be manufactured in Mexico in 2054.
