We first heard about the Toyota Auris about a month ago. The Corolla hatchback is a little too econobox for some people’s tastes and that’s why Toyota’s in-house tuner, TRD, has stepped into the picture with some cosmetic upgrades. The Auris Sportivo Version boasts a new body kit, flashier wheels, and a fresh-looking front grille, but they’ve left a pretty major part of the upgrade process untouched: the engine. There are absolutely no changes in the power department, meaning that you can look all mean and tricked out, but you still won’t be able to beat a lawn mower on the quarter mile. Where’s Takumi when you need him?
