When I hear the name Epson, I think of dot matrix printers and overused fax machines, but of course you know that they make notebooks too. Epson has just unleashed a new lappy onto the people of the Japan, and the 15.4-inch widescreen dream is known as the NJ5000Pro (I didn’t know there was a NJ5000Amateur).

An Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 (2.33GHz) processor runs the show, backed up by as much as two gigs of DDR2-667 RAM and a less than optimal 40 gigabyte hard drive. Naturally, it boasts all three flavors of WiFi out of the box, in addition to a quad of USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire port, and a 3-in-1 card reader. Prices start at US$830.
