Dell to offer AMD-powered laptops for less than $500

Sales are a wonderful, glorious thing as they allow you to get all those cool gizmos you’ve been lusting after for a much more affordable price. Traditionally, AMD has been the more budget-minded option, and now it seems that things are getting even cheaper as Dell will start offering notebooks that rock those processors for under $500.

This bargain basement unit will come with a fairly standard 15.4-inch display, whereas a slightlier beefier 17-inch rendition is expected for early next year. Whether it comes powered by AMD or Intel is a secondary issue; Where are they getting the batteries from?
