While Ford is calling it quits on the Taurus, Honda is thrusting renewed vigor into their best selling Civic line. American Honda Motor Company, Inc. has just announced that they have started selling the natural gas-powered 2007 Honda Civic GX in New York State, with a starting MSRP of $24,590. This revolutionary vehicle, which is otherwise identical to the rest of its Civic sedan brethren, can achieve the equivalent of 28 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway. You save about 30% in fuel costs (because natural gas is cheaper), but if you invest in a Phill natural gas home refuelling appliance, the savings increase to 50%. With near-zero emissions and a $4,000 Federal tax credit, the Civic GX isn’t all that bad a choice for the environmentally- and budget-conscious consumer.
