While most people would only associate Symbian with Nokia smartphones, other manufacturers are making use of the operating system as well. LG is joining the Symbian party with a sliding smartphone called “Joy”. Yes, they’re that happy about the venture.
Samsung jumped on the bandwagon earlier this week, so I guess their Korean cousin didn’t want to feel left out. The LG Joy will be running on Symbian OS v9 S60 3rd Edition, boasting a 2.4-inch LCD, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, xHTML browser, 2 megapixel camera, VGA cam for video calls, microSD expansion, and even high-speed HSDPA. No sleek touch sensitive keys like the Chocolate though.
