Ever since Sprint and Nextel signed fateful piece of paper, signifying that they were “together at last”, people have wondered when they would start to release hybrid phones using both networks. That date is finally upon us. According to a web page at sprintpcs.com, the Motorola ic502 dual-mode clamshell is destined for a November 5th launch in “select markets.”

They make no mention where these lucky folks would be, but “RmiXDflavoR” says that these include Tampa, Orlando, New York, Boston, Orange County, and Long Island. Of course, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, considering his UniQuE username. What we do know is if the ic502 is indeed dropping soon, it will use CDMA for traditional calling and iDEN for PTT.
