They won’t win any fashion awards, but they were never meant to enter any beauty pageants. The new Panasonic Toughbook CF-30 and CF-19 are designed with ruggedness in mind, being able to withstand the worst of nature’s elements, providing you with your valued computing power no matter where your drill sergeant sends you. The casing makes them waterproof, and the hard drives are actually mounted on shocks to avoid any kind of sharp jarring. The specs won’t exactly floor you — Intel Core Duo coupled with 512MB of RAM — but the prices certainly will: the rough and tumble CF-19 and CF-30 are priced respectively at $4,200 and $4,699.
