Toyota Camry Hybrid to be made in Kentucky

The lines are blurring between what is an American car and what is a Japanese car. Everyone is borrowing technology from one another and company ownership is a complete blur. Toyota, known as one of the big three Japanese car makers, has shifted hybrid production to the United States, announcing that they will be producing the new Camry Hybrid at their Kentucky plant. The gas-powered Camry has been built in North America for some time now, but having hybrids built over here is a company first. The expected annual production capacity is about 48,000 units.
