Mister Mackay from South Park keeps reminding us that “Drugs are bad, mmmkay.” LG Telecom is taking the same approach when it comes to “adult” content, as they will “eliminate obscene contents from its video, photo and gamble [sic] services.” LG Telecom, as Korea’s smallest mobile operator, don’t want to lose any subscribers who happen to be concerned parents.

Their concept of “obscene” goes beyond naked boobies too, removing any kind of “photos and videos featuring celebrities in bikinis”, as well as phone dating, poker applications, and so forth. In May, they stopped servicing “sexual stories,” despite earning 3.8 billion KRW (nearly US$3 million) last year through their support and sales of adult content.
