Report: Thin not enough to sell cell phones

According to a recent survey and report by Strategy Analytics, a prominent research and consulting company, a slim form factor is not enough when it comes to promoting cell phones anymore. Customers want more.

A large part of this is because nearly every manufacturer has super-slim offerings these days — the Samsung Blade, Sanyo Katana, Motorola RAZR, etc. — so it takes something else to set you apart from the crowd. Even so, regular (fatter) clamshells are still apparently more popular than their ultra-thin counterparts, because the appeal of the latter is not universal. Maybe Samsung needs to shift their focus away from skinny and mundo-megapixels…
