Thumb drives aren’t the most exciting innovation these days, but they are quickly become an absolute necessity. After all, who uses those 1.44MB floppy discs anymore? I-O Data is expanding their ToteBag line of thumb drives, the newest of which provide twice the reading speed of their predecessors. The write speed is improved too (by about 1.5 times), thanks to the implementation of SLC (single level cell) technology. This allows for the simultaneous access of 2 or more flash chips on a single key. Capacities will range up to 8 gigabytes. No word on price.
