Elecom Japan gets wood, announces ASP-WP8 iPod dock

Some people enjoy glossy white plastic. Others have a preference for shiny aluminium. Elecom Japan is a little different, opting for a vintage look for their latest iPod speaker dock, the ASP-WP8 made of “high quality wood.” This offering is a touch on the small (220 x 100 x 60mm) and feeble (2 x 5.5 watts of output) side, but that’s okay, because it’s got plenty of portable love for the 2nd-gen iPod nano. Naturally, it’ll take on other MP3 players as well via the stereo mini jack. Complete with a remote and your choice of three wood finishes, the ASP-WP8 will go on sale at the end of this month for about US$135.

Note: You’ll notice that this is post #10,000. As you’ll recall, we’re giving away an 30GB iPod or Zune to celebrate this momentous event. For your chance to win, leave a comment at our official contest page, where you’ll also find the rest of the details for this giveaway. Thanks for your continued support!
