Audi is getting into the iPod integration business and in a big way. The S8 sports the Audio Music Interface, an iPod integration system that aims for seamless connection between music player and vehicle audio system.

An iPod-specific slot sits right next to the CD changer slot and slides out to accommodate the trusty Apple MP3 player. (Other brands will work, of course, given the right cabling.)

Buyers of the Audi S8 can have a model with the AMI installed for just US$300 more. Audi also hinted that not only audio but video content could be available from the interface in the not-too-distant future.
