Transcend announces 8GB SDHC card

The physical size remains unchanged, but they’re packing in so much extra storage these days. The latest bump in portable media comes from the SDHC format, with an incredible eight gigabyte offering coming from the crew at Transcend. The model number — TS8GBSDHC — isn’t exactly inspiring, but you have to admit that they’ve done some good work in getting that much memory into a postage stamp sized media card. Of course, you’ll probably have to wait for some firmware updates before your SDHC-reading device is capable of even using a card over 4 gigs. No word on pricing or availability.
