JXD638: a PMPing, picture taking, block of white-and-grey fun

Everyone has been saying that playing music just isn’t good enough anymore to sell a standalone device. After all, so many cell phones on the market have integrated MP3 players these days. To justify the additional purchase, you have to do more, and that’s exactly what the JXD638 PMP is all about — more! Not only will it blast out the usual selection of video and audio files through its 3-inch color display, but there’s also a 2 megapixel camera on board as well. A digital SLR this isn’t, but it’s certainly better than the blurtastic VGA numbers we get on mobile phones. Although there is only 1GB of storage space on-board, you can always add more memory via the SD expansion slot. No word on pricing or availability.
