Hitachi seems to be always updating old concepts with new functionality. The Eye Muse definitely follows in that vein.

Officially, it’s the HMR-1, but it’s being called the Eye Muse. It’s a portable music player, first and foremost, but it’s also more than that. First of all, you can play MP3s and WMAs as well as CDs. You can also use the Eye Muse as a recorder, transferring CD or digital music files onto SD cards without having to power up to a PC.

It probably doesn’t hurt that the HMR-1 is about the size of a wallet. It is expected to be available in November, priced at US$214.
