Mitsuoka Type R: a sub-400 pound car

Looking for a small car? Japanese maker Mitsuoka has come up with a really, really small car. The Type R has a curb weight of just 180 kg (that’s 396 pounds). Designed for inner-city use, the car is powered by an air-cooled 50cc two-stroke engine which can hit 50 km/h and can travel 30 km on a single liter of fuel (over 70mpg). If that’s not good enough efficiency for you, there is also an electric version. 120 completed cars and 120 kits will be available once the car gets approval from the traffic ministry in Japan.
