Helio’s new service is aptly named Hybrid. It is a 3G/Wi-Fi package that enables devices to connect wirelessly, one way or the other.

Helio, you’ll remember, is a hot new way of using mobile phones aimed at younger users. They’ve simplified the way people use phones without eliminating functionality. Hybrid is a further step in that direction.

The Wi-Fi is through Boingo, and the rest is 3G. Helio’s propriety software does the heavy lifting, offering users a simple interface to navigate and seamless switching between 3G and Wi-Fi. The simple interface comes with a simple pricing structure as well.
