The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) is going to be getting a GPS attachment his December (dubbed the MAPLUS navigation system), but it won’t only help you get around town; it also presents some interesting video gaming possibilities. Two titles that are said to make use of this new GPS functionality are Everybody’s Golf Course (which uses real world golf courses and will provide real-time feedback when you actually hit up the links) and Metal Gear Portable Ops (which will give you location specific maps and will require you to go to certain locations in order to interact with enemies).

Naturally, the GPS attachment still does the vanilla navigation thing, providing points of interest and such, with information being updated via the web and stored on a Memory Stick. No word on pricing for the software just yet.
